APT’s history began in 1927 when Alfred William (Bill) McGeary, a mechanic, saw an opportunity to help people who were stranded by a cable tram strike in Melbourne, Australia. He converted his truck into a bus and started a transportation business.
Over the next few decades, APT expanded its offerings to include day tours and accommodated tours around Australia. In the 1970s, the company began offering escorted tours to New Zealand and other international destinations.
In the 1990s, APT added luxury train and cruise ship journeys to its portfolio. Today, APT offers a variety of travel experiences, including river cruises, escorted tours, and yacht cruises.
