Amadeus Royal is exclusively chartered for Saga guests, which means all activities on board are designed with you in mind. And, as we have total control over the itineraries we’ll make sure you visit the most interesting destinations and follow the best route while aboard Saga’s Amadeus Royal.
The friendly crew will make you feel instantly at home, and it’s easy to get to know and socialise with your fellow travellers – oh, and there won’t be any language barriers either, as all announcements are made in English. Built in 2005, this superior-quality ship has great facilities and her spacious, comfortable public rooms are an ideal place to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Most Saga ships have a limited number of cabins adapted for those who suffer from mobility issues. Please contact them before booking to make sure we have these facilities available.
Fine dining is an integral part of the cruising experience and we can cater for most dietary needs as long as you let us know in advance. You can make us aware of your requirements at the time of booking or if you have already booked, please contact us.
Saga Holidays are for anyone 50 and over. A travelling companion or family member travelling with you may be aged 40 or over.
The dress code onboard is smart but casual during the day. Swimwear is restricted to the open decks only.
There are three evening dress codes. On formal evenings ladies tend to wear long dresses, cocktail dresses or evening trousers. Men wear a dinner jacket or tuxedo. A dark lounge suit may be worn.
On informal evenings , ladies usually wear a less formal dress or trousers, and men choose from a lounge suit, sports jacket or blazer with tie. On casual evenings, ladies wear an informal dress or trousers, and men an open-neck shirt and smart casual trousers.

The facilities on board include the Amadeus Club lounge, an indoor fitness area, a Sun Deck with deckchairs, a small pool and the Lido Bar. You can enjoy buffet breakfasts and delicious four-course lunches and dinners with a choice of waiter-served main courses. In the afternoon, tea and biscuits are served and late-night snacks are also available - ensuring that you'll never go hungry on the Amadeus Royal ship.
After dinner why not take yourself to the Panorama Bar and Lounge. Entertainment from local musicians and a fully stocked bar where you will find your favourite tipple. With an elegant decor and floor to ceiling windows the Panorama bar and lounge allows you wonderful river views of the towns and cities of Europe.
Located at the aft on the Mozart Deck. The Amadeus Club is a comfortable space with plenty of chairs and tables and unimpeded views of the outside. The decor is nautical, with models of sailing ships and a replica bell. Self-service tea and coffee area is available, where passengers can help themselves to cappuccinos or espressos and choose from 16 varieties of tea.
Located within the Amadeus Club the library is well stocked with books available in several languages. Passengers can also borrow board games at their leisure. Also located within the Amadeus Club is the Internet Cafe where passengers can use one of the two computers here to log onto the Net for a rate of 30 euros a week, 50 euros for two weeks or 3 euros per hour.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship.
The Sun deck is the hub of activity onboard. Enjoy a game of chess, bowls or take an amble around the walking track while taking in the beautiful, riverside views.
