Introduction

Built in 1996 and refurbished in 2010, the 90 passenger MS Royal Crown is a luxurious vessel, specially designed for the rivers flowing through the heart of Europe. This elegant vessel combines the nostalgic charm of the 1930s with the comfort, luxury and exquisite service. No expense has been spared to create not only a vessel that is beautiful to look at, but also a great joy to travel on. Spacious teak decks, elegant public rooms and staterooms with mahogany, rosewood and marble, together with rich fabrics, all blend together to create a unique river vessel.

Disabled facilities

Passengers affected by a disability or medical condition must be self-sufficient or travel with someone who can provide the necessary assistance at all times. At the point of embarkation, the Company reserves the right to refuse passage to any Passenger who had failed to notify the Company at the time of booking of any disabilities or the need for assistance or who, in the opinion of the Company is unfit to travel or who may constitute a danger to themselves or others whilst on board. Under those circumstances Passengers will receive no refund of the cost of any part of the unused cruise package.

The Company will endeavour to carry Passengers of limited mobility if it has been notified of such limitations at the time of booking (and has been informed of any deterioration in condition or new conditions between booking and travelling) and after any additional Fair Trading Conditions have been agreed by the Passenger and the Company in writing prior to departure. Passengers who use wheelchairs must be able to board the ship on foot, provide their own standard size collapsible wheelchairs and be accompanied by a travelling companion fit and able to assist them at all times.

Whilst the Company makes every effort to accommodate all Passengers' needs, Passengers using wheelchairs may have restricted access in certain areas of the ship and may be unable to go ashore in certain ports, particularly those that require the use of tenders.

Childrens Facilities

Hebridean regret that children under the age of nine cannot be accommodated.

Dress Code

Daytime: During the day dress is casual. It is advisable to bring suitable clothing for the area in which you will be cruising.

Evening: For dinner in the evening, guests prefer to dress more formally, with a jacket and tie for gentlemen and the equivalent for ladies.

Gala evenings: The recommended dress code for Gala evenings is black tie for gentlemen and evening wear for ladies, although this is by no means mandatory. On these evenings, the Officers will wear formal dress. The number of Gala evenings depends on the length of the cruise, but as a guideline, two formal Gala Dinners will be held during a seven-night cruise.

Footwear: Non-slip shoes should be worn on deck and in the ship’s small boats when going ashore. Some cruises visit remote locations where heavy-soled shoes or walking boots are recommended for shore visits and serious walking.

Excursions: In addition to walking boots, they recommend that guests protect themselves against the unpredictable weather with waterproof clothing; they would stress that jeans are considered unsuitable. A reasonably sized rucksack would also be useful.

Dietary requirements

Hebridean can cater for most dietary preferences, with the exception of strict kosher and one or two other regimes. Special requests should be included in the Pre-Cruise Questionnaire; their reservations staff will be pleased to advise you.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not allowed inside the vessel at any time and is not permitted in cabins. Smoking is allowed only on the outer decks, and guests occupying balcony cabins and are asked to show consideration to other balcony users.
