Entertainment

When you're not exploring ashore, you'll find so much to keep you busy around the ship. Inside and out, there are spaces to relax or get active.

Every morning a Daily Programme will be delivered to your cabin, listing all the activities on offer that day. But whether you want to do it all or simply relax into the laid-back pace of life on the ocean wave, they leave it up to you to decide how you enjoy your time.

As a ship reserved exclusively for adults, the atmosphere is always refined and relaxed: there are no kids’ areas or noisy games rooms, just plenty of entertainment and activities tailored for you. This often includes painting and photography classes, music recitals, talks, quizzes and films in the cinema. What will you choose?

The Discovery Lounge

Enjoy lively talks, presentations, dance classes and afternoon tea – that great cruising tradition – in the Discovery Lounge.

It’s also the venue for fun activities throughout the day, such as on themed cruises where you could find yourself enjoying cookery demonstrations from Michelin-starred chefs, a live interview with a TV star or author, or performances from celebrity dancers – every cruise is different!

You can also look forward to a programme of guests speakers on every cruise, experts who will offer insights into the upcoming destinations as well as the local history, culture and unmissable sights.

In the evenings, this lounge comes alive with dancing, shows from the ship's own theatre company, star guests, specially-invited musicians, classical recitals and a resident band, for a wide variety of entertainment each and every night.

Comfortable, well-designed seating means everyone can enjoy the show, while television screens dotted around the space offer a close-up view of the action on stage.

The Cinema

In the afternoons and evenings, you can head to the cinema in the middle of B deck. Here you can watch classic films and the very latest releases, sometimes even while they’re still in the multiplexes back home!

If you’re sailing on a ‘themed cruise’, the films will often reflect the flavour or era of the on-board entertainment too. Or if you’d prefer to watch in the comfort of your cabin, the same programme is also available on your own television.

The Sundowners Bar

Good sea views through picture windows and an outside seating area with a large TV for sporting events.

Shackletons

The ship's main bar with a live pianist and dance floor.

Library

Saga Pearl II boasts a library containing more books per passenger than any other classic cruise ship, and the impressive 3,000+ collection of books is the real heart of the ship. Here you can escape in a book or newspaper, research your next destination or borrow a DVD from to watch in the comfort of your cabin.

For those who love the latest technology, the ship also boasts the first e-library afloat! Created in association with iconic publishers Penguin, you can grab an e-reader and choose from 36 titles specially curated by Penguin’s experts. Genres include crime and adventure, escapist fiction, travel writing, literary gems, historical fiction and celebrity biography and so much more.

Photo & Video Gallery

Visit the photo gallery on Promenade Deck to pick up a keepsake of your cruise. The photographers and videographers capture all the special moments of your time, from on-board events and parties to the shore excursions and evening entertainment.

You can purchase framed prints and even photo gifts on board, or even print your own photos from your digital camera. Or why not buy a DVD or blu ray of your cruise – perfect for taking home a memento to share with friends and family.

Shops

The ship has a boutique selling a range of items from toiletries and confectionary, to perfumes, jewellery, souvenirs, giftware, clothing, alcohol and cigarettes – all tax free!
