Introduction

Silversea's loyal following of adventure travellers can now explore the remote archipelagos of the vast Pacific aboard the sleek, 120-guest Silver Discoverer. She's the perfect platform for viewing these untamed landscapes, with all ocean-view suites and plenty of deck space so that a breaching whale or a pod of dolphins is always within sight. Her shallow draft allows her to navigate closer to shore, and with a fleet of 12 Zodiacs and a glass-bottom boat, guests can land on isolated shores and explore wetlands and submerged ecosystems, up-close and in-depth.

Unique Features

Spacious decks and panoramic public rooms mean the drama of the unexpected is never far from view. A fleet of Zodiacs allows exploration from the water or remote landings anywhere nature or curiosity dictate. Since many of the expeditions sail to some of the world's most pristine coral reef systems, there's a glass-bottom boat for underwater viewing along with a full complement of snorkelling equipment and a dive programme for advanced divers.

Age Restrictions

Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied, in the same or connecting suite, by a parent or other responsible adult over the age of 21 for the duration of the voyage and on all shore excursions and Land Programmes. Silversea cannot accommodate infants under the age of one year on board Silver Discoverer. No children under the age of six will be allowed onboard the Zodiacs. Children under the age of six (6) years will be unable to participate in any expedition excursions or embarkations that require the use of a Zodiac. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume alcohol. Silversea reserves the right to refuse to serve anyone who in its sole judgement may be under the influence of alcohol, or for any reason necessary in its judgement to preserve the health and safety of guests and employees.

Dress Code

Clothing Onboard the Ship- Shipboard attire ranges from casual to informal. Casual wear is appropriate for daytime aboard ship or ashore, and consists of standard sports outfits as worn at five-star resorts. Shoes should be flat or low heeled for deck activities. Evening attire is casual with the exception of the Captain’s Dinner, where jackets are recommended for men. On casual evenings, open-neck shirts, trousers and casual wear are appropriate. On the two informal evenings, women usually wear dresses or trouser suits; men wear jackets (tie optional). Remember to pack swimwear.

Clothing Ashore- The right gear is essential for enjoying the full experience of your Silversea Expedition without the limitations of weather and other conditions. Clothing that can be layered to accommodate different temperatures is most versatile and comfortable. A detailed packing list is provided at Silversea.com/expeditions. Click on Gear Shop. Don’t over pack. You don’t need a lot of clothing and accessories, but you do need the right gear to fully enjoy your expedition.

Medical Services

Silver Discoverer is equipped with a Medical Centre. A doctor is on 24-hour call when at sea. When docked, supplementary emergency care may also be obtained through local medical facilities. Guests may be charged for medical services and for medications used for their medical treatment. The Medical Centre is not intended or designed to provide ongoing treatment for pre-existing conditions or for extended critical care, and Silversea is not responsible for the
diagnosis, treatment or services furnished by shipboard medical personnel. Guests requiring oxygen for medical reasons are welcome to bring an oxygen concentrator onboard. Guests wishing to bring their own portable oxygen tanks must obtain prior written authorisation from Silversea, as restrictions may apply.

Disabled facilities

Due to limited availability and accessibility on board the expedition ships, Silversea may not be able to accommodate the same special requests as they are able to accommodate on their other ships.

Entertainment

The ocean views and soothing sound of the surf can be quite intoxicating at sea, so it’s not surprising that daydreaming on deck is one of the most popular pastimes. However, every Silversea all inclusive cruise also includes a considerable number of more active pursuits — some for the body, some for the mind … and some just for fun.
