Celebrity Apex will sail UK season in 2020

Celebrity Cruises has announced that Celebrity Apex will sail a mini-season of cruises from the UK in spring 2020.

The sister ship to Celebrity Edge, which will debut in a couple of months time, will operate a short season from Southampton, alongside Celebrity Silhouette in 2020. It will be the first time since the debut of Celebrity Eclipse in 2010 that Celebrity Cruises has launched a new ship out of the UK.

The announcement was made during a shipyard tour for 100 travel agents and media in Saint Nazaire, France, where Celebrity Edge is being built. Also revealed during the day was the spectacular golden atrium that will serve as the focal meeting point on the ship, and the luxury tenders that will be used to transport guests ashore when the ship is at anchor. Celebrity Cruises explained the decision to bring Celebrity Apex to the UK was down to the amazing support the UK cruise market has shown to sister ship Celebrity Edge.
