Marina cruise ship review: the most enchanting ship ever seen
Food: Oceania is one of the most prized cruise lines for the food. It is in fact ideal for every foodie, they spend a great deal of money in food to make sure they deliver the best to their guests. The attention to food is highlighted from the fact that the Asian fusion restaurant on board has become a restaurant in the US. I was really impressed by the fact about the well known beef which is a very high cut meat USDA Prime and dry-aged for 28 days: it is so tender that can be cut with a spoon!
I didn't get the chance to try the food on board of Marina, but I dined in her sister Nautica, where I got the chance to try the well spoken beef: read my Nautica's review.
Entertainment: Oceania cruise line is continuously trying to improve its on board entertainment> Bigger ship such as Marina host west end shows in the grand theatre, in the same there is also space for dancing and different shows may take place. In other venues, there is live music and more. When guests embark there is a trio playing classical music in the main hall.
It also worth noting the number of workshops on board and to remark that Oceania was the first cruise line to introduce cooking classes on board: there is a big laboratory dedicated to this. There are also special cruises where guests can shop local products, e.g. the markets in Las Ramblas and then they are taught how to cook them on board.
Facilities: Marina is a really impressive ship in all the details and facilities alike, the extra touches and the money invested are clearly visible everywhere. One of the best areas is the pool where there is ample seating to make sure most of the guests can relax in this area, the chairs are really good quality and very spacious. The SPA area is also very well equipped with sauna, massage space, hot beds, whirlpools and also reserved seating for sunbathing.
Another big bonus of Oceania cruise lines is that the access to the specialty dining venues are included in the price.
I have been really impressed also with the facilities in the suites: every suite is different from another and have a special feature.
Cabins: extremely nice and comfortable. All the cabins visited on the tour have been dressed and accessorized to the highest standard. The mattresses in Oceania are extremely efficient in guaranteeing a good night sleep, so efficient and carefully studied that they are now for sale to the general public. The Oceania suite cabins have a home theatre room where guests can enjoy a movie night in the privacy of their rooms.
I was impressed with the Presidential suite: the décor is simply stunning as well as the facilities. The furnishing is by Ralph Lauren and the room is lavish throughout. As soon as you walk in you are captured by the beauty of the entertaining room with two comfortable armchair in a zebra upholstery, the piano and the bar with stool, the windows occupy all the surface so I guess the view at sea is stunning. Plus, the marble bathroom with bath and shower is very big, the spacious living room is an intimate and cozy place, the well presented bedroom with cashmere walls is stunning and the balcony is impressive: it also hosts a hot tub.
I truly believe this suite would be amazingly good for a honey moon!
Also the other suites visited were extremely nice, each suite has something special, it might be an extra spacious balcony or a small gym or an extremely spacious wardrobe.
Type of décor: contemporary, luxury interiors that cannot be faulted. Everything is taken care of in the minimum details. All the furnishing and the accessories are of the highest standard and this can be seen. Many of the bedrooms are also styled by important designers. Incredible also the Versace plates.
Courtesy of the staff: excellent!
What did you like the most of this ship?
The decor throughout and the high quality and the attention paid to any detail. I noticed the Bulgari toiletries in every suites, the pillow menus and many extra remarkable touches.
I have also appreciated the works of art on board, there is also a Picasso and many other famous artists' pieces.
What did you like the least of this ship?
I couldn't fault anything.
Oceania Cruises: incredible offers!
