Virgin Voyages unveils cutting edge new ship
31 Oct 2017
Virgin Voyages, the new cruise line created by Richard Branson, has unveiled the design of its brand new cruise ship due to launch in 2020.
The 110,000 GT ship will carry 2,800 “sailors” and will be an adult-only ship, with a minimum cruising age of 18.
A company statement read: “Designed with the glitter and glam of a yacht, the ship’s livery stands out on the high seas. She glides with a unique level of sophistication paired with an unapologetic aire of mystery. A design meant to excite and inspire sailors to want to explore every corner.
“From dining and entertainment to wellness and rejuvenation, nearly every single element of the Virgin Voyages journey will bring a unique Virgin Style to the high seas – and not just for our 2,800 Sailors, but also for the 1,150 crew members who will reside there and make amazing happen.”
The keel has been laid at the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa, where the ship is being built, and once complete, will offer year-round Caribbean cruises from Miami.
Itineraries, and more details about the new ship will be announced at a later date.
