Brand New Sky Princess To Sail The Mediterranean in 2019
01 Dec 2017
Princess Cruises brand new ship is to be named Sky Princess and will sail around the Mediterranean from October 2019.
The 143,700 GT, 3,660-passenger vessel will build upon the successful design platform used for previous Royal-class ships.
“Sky Princess continues a Princess Cruises legacy and honours one of our previous ships,” said Jan Swartz, group president of Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia. “When Princess merged with Sitmar Cruises in 1988, Sky Princess joined our fleet and sailed with us for 12 years. Now more than 30 years later, a new Sky Princess will join the fleet featuring our modern design platform and contemporary innovations offered to exceed our guests’ expectations.”
Sky Princess will debut in the Mediterranean, sailing from Piraeus, the port for Athens, to Barcelona on a 7-night Mediterranean & Adriatic departing 20 October 2019. The new ship will also offer a 7-night round-trip cruise from Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, visiting some of the best ports in the Mediterranean. The ship will then sail from Fort Lauderdale in the Winter offering Caribbean cruises.
