Celebrity Edge – An EDGE-cellent New Ship

Yesterday late afternoon saw the release of Celebrity's new ship 'Edge' when the cruise line hosted a Facebook live session from Miami.

We we're treated to rendered images of various different areas of the new ship, whilst being guided through the presentation by the Celebrity design team. Designer Kelly Hoppen MBE and Tom Wright who were involved in the interior design and architecture were also present at the event.

Highlights of this cutting edge vessel included -

• The Magic Carpet - a moving balcony the size of a tennis court where in the daytime it becomes a platform to assist passengers to tender boats and in the evenings it becomes a speciality restaurant.
• Infinite Verander - incorporated into your room, at the push of a button French style doors slide to the side making the verander part of your room, increasing the size by 23%.
• The Edge Villa - with only six of these two level suites on board, they are truly stunning. They will have their own infinity pool and passengers staying in these suites will have direct walk-out access to The Retreat Sundeck.

The First Sailings

This new ship was designed to give passengers a better view and highlight each destinations. With this in mind Celebrity have decided that the first two sailings on the Edge will be to the corner of the world that they describe as 'paradise' - the Caribbean Islands. These will both set sail from Fort Lauderdale, FL.
